EMDR


EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing is a powerful way of tapping in to old unhelpful memories and beliefs and releasing their emotional charge.

It is based on bilateral stimulation of the brain by either eye movements or hand tapping. It enables the right, more emotional, hemisphere and the left, more logical, hemisphere to process a past event to reduce its hold over you by integrating the narrative of the event and its accompanying emotions.

During the process of EMDR associated memories of a particular event emerge and are also processed, so that past troubling traumatic memories can surface for healing and no longer drive your thinking and behaviour.

EMDR can get quickly to the root of a problem and begin a process of deep transformation.
